Appoint NordicIP as your Danish trademark agent
We manage the Danish trademark process from the first filing decision through examination, registration and renewal. You receive clear advice, a fixed filing cost and concise reporting at every stage.
Territorial filing plan
We assess the value of a Danish national right across Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands and compare it with EU coverage.
DKPTO-ready specification
We convert the commercial brief into a focused Danish list of goods and services and prepare the applicant and priority data.
Danish prosecution
We file with DKPTO, analyse search results and examination points, and prepare the agreed response under the Danish reference.
Registration and continuity
We report the Danish registration, retain the filing record and place the ten-year renewal on the NordicIP docket.
// COUNTRY-SPECIFIC ADVANTAGE
Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands
A Danish national registration extends to Greenland and the Faroe Islands. NordicIP builds this territorial value into the filing recommendation when the brand will be used in Denmark or either autonomous territory.
We prepare the application and specification, file with DKPTO and manage the office correspondence in English for the client. The result is one Danish instruction covering a commercially distinctive three-territory footprint.
// FILING STRATEGY
Choose the right route for Denmark
A Danish national application creates a standalone right on the Danish register. It is well suited to businesses focused on Denmark and to portfolios that benefit from a separate national registration.
A Danish national registration also extends to Greenland and the Faroe Islands. This makes the national route especially important when the brand will be used in either territory.
For broader European Union coverage, an EU trademark includes Denmark alongside 26 other EU member states. We can compare the national and EUTM routes and prepare the combination that fits the markets you need.
NordicIP files and manages the proceeding with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) and reports every material development in English.
// TIMING · OPPOSITION · RENEWAL
Denmark trademark timetable and maintenance
Current application timing
DKPTO currently states approximately six weeks from payment to process a straightforward application. Office objections or an opposition add further stages, so we confirm a case-specific timetable at instruction.
Denmark opposition stage
Two months from publication. If an opposition is filed, NordicIP analyses the earlier right, prepares the defence and manages the DKPTO timetable.
Renewal managed by NordicIP
The basic official fee starts at DKK 2,400. DKK 240 for the second class and DKK 720 for each further class. A 20% increase applies after expiry. We verify the register, confirm the total, file and report completion.

The exact mark
Provide the approved word mark or a clear final image of the logo that will be placed on the Danish register.
Owner and priority
Give the owner’s full legal details and any earlier filing from which priority may be claimed.
